Q&A with Dr. Matz

Question: I'm missing a tooth, but don't like the idea of a bridge or a partial denture. What are my other options?

Answer: Dental implants! Implants are the closest tooth replacement dentistry has to a natural tooth. Unlike a natural tooth, implants have no nerve so it can't become a toothache! Dental implants are strong and they are maintained like natural teeth with simple brushing and flossing. Implants are also relatively easy to place. It often takes less time to place an implant than to prepare teeth for bridge! They also place less stress on supporting teeth and reduce the risk of fracture.
